"Dad! Can I talk to you?" Alfred asked, peeking into his father's office.
"Yes, Alfred?" Daniel asked, not looking up from his papers.
"You know I don't think its fair that Matt's betrothed & has no choice about it."
"Yes..." Mr. Jones quietly wondered what his youngest was up to.
"Well, what if you deny the betrothal between Matt & Beth all together & have me marry whatever girl, other than Beth, that you choice?" Alfred suggested, barely taking a chance to breathe.
"No."
"Why not?!"
"Because its not your choice. I am the head of this household & I made that promise."
"So it doesn't matter how Matt or Beth or anyone else feels? You do what you want & we just have to follow your rules? What a great father you turned out to be." Alfred scoffed & stormed out of the room.
"Hey, Artie?" Alfred looked up from his Superman comic.
"Yes, champ?" Arthur asked.
"I know you aren't a huge fan of superheroes & stuff but would you like to go to the Avengers with me tomorrow?" Alfred ignored his tiny blush.
"I'm the last one you asked, aren't I?" Arthur accused.
"Uh, maybe. But I already paid for both tickets." Alfred scratched the back of his head.
"Meaning yeah, I am. Sure, I'll go with you." Arthur sighed. "So, what was your plan anyways?"
"Oh, right, um, I was offered to have me marry anyone my dad chose as long as Matt & Beth didn't have to wed." Alfred laughed nervously.
"Excuse me?!" Arthur damn near shouted.
"Look, Arthur, I was just trying to help our siblings, okay? We agreed that the situation sucked & it was my first idea." Alfred said.
"Fine." The last bell of the day rang & Arthur sighed. "I'll see you tomorrow, champ. Text me the details for the movie."
"'Kay, will do." Alfred smiled.
"Hey Al, what're you up to?" Matthew asked, resting in the doorway, looking at the mess of his twin's room. Clothes were thrown everywhere, covering most of the surfaces in the room with Alfred in the middle, staring hopelessly around himself. Oddly, Matthew was reminded of his first date with Gilbert & how his room had looked just the same. "You going on a date, Al?"
"No!" The reply was quick, a knee-jerk reaction & a defensive one at that. Alfred blushed when he realized just that.
"Ah, Arthur, huh?" Matthew chuckled.
"Its not a date!" Alfred stated.
"Not a date, haven't almost kissed him~. Mm-hm, whatever you say, Al." Matthew rolled his eyes.
"Wh-what?! I've... W-we've never-! Sh-shut up, Matt!" Alfred said, covering his face with his hands. The older twin laughed openly before making his way to the closet.
"Now, if you WERE to be going on a date with him, I would suggest something liiiike," Alfred heard the ruffling of fabrics & the clinking of hangers. "this."
Alfred looked up at his brother & his brows rose. He stared at the outfit for a moment. "You want me to look gay?"
"Oh come off it, this is a perfectly straight outfit." Matthew glared.
"Then what's with all the plaid? The scarf & the shirt." Alfred replied pointedly.
"Oh my- fine. No scarf. And I'll switch the shirt." Matthew rolled his lilac orbs, grabbing another shirt. He put it against the black jeans, nodded & held it up to his twin. Alfred sighed & held out his hands.
"Help me up." Alfred said, fustration obvious in his voice. The Canadian chuckled & helped his currently crippled twin up.
A honk of a horn brought Arthur from the midsts of his petting of the cats in his backyard. He ruffled the furry ears & quickly moved through the house.
"Hello Matt, hi champ." Arthur said, slipping into the car.
"Hey Arthur." Matt smiled, waiting for him to strap in.
"Hi." Alfred muttered, his face covered by one of his hands.
"What's wrong with you?" Arthur asked, looking back at the boy with the cast.
"He's embarassed that I'm dropping you guys off." Matthew said, getting slugged by his younger brother. Matthew chuckled, "So violent, gosh, Al."
"Shut up Matt." Alfred said.
"Not my fault you broke your ankle." Matthew replied. Alfred sighed.
"I could have walked to the theater, you know." Arthur said. The twins shook their heads.
"Its no trouble, really." They said.
"That was a bit creepy..." Arthur commented.
"Its not like we're-" Matthew began.
"Finishing each other's sentences, Artie." Alfred chuckled.
"Again, you're lucky you're injuried, champ." Arthur glared.
"There you go again, Princess, threatening me. Not very lady-like of you." Alfred smirked & was flicked in the forehead. "Owie, & Matt says I'm violent?"
"You guys are so immature." Matthew sighed.
"Oh yeah, you're one to talk." Alfred scoffed.
"How am I immature, Matthew?" Arthur asked.
"Oh look, we're at the theater." Matthew said, parking the car. "I'll get the wheelchair out the trunk."
"Okay." Alfred muttered, feeling restless & useless. The older two blondes got out of the car, Matthew to the trunk & Arthur to Alfred's door. The Brit opened the door & smiled softly.
"Restless, champ?" Arthur asked.
"Beyond compare." Alfred groaned.
"At least you get to go do stuff besides school, right?"
"I like school." Alfred said. "But yeah, true."
"Pardon, Art." Matthew said.
"Yes." Arthur moved out of the way & watched the twins manuveer Alfred into the chair. Matthew wheeled Alfred over to Arthur & put on the chair's breaks.
"I put him in your care now. Don't do anything too bad, 'kay?" Matthew asked.
"Oh hush up." Arthur blushed, causing Matthew to laugh.
"Good luck." Matthew waved, getting to the driver's side of the car. "I'll see you in a few hours. Have a nice date."
"It's not a date, dammit!" Alfred shouted at his twin, blushing deeply. Matthew laughed as he got in the car & drove off.
"Well, I believe you." Arthur said, leaning on the handles.
"And you're the one who'd know." Alfred sighed, taking the brakes off.
"True. Also, you look nice tonight. Green's a good color on you." Arthur commented off-handedly.
"Thanks. Your outfit's cool too." Alfred blushed, hands resting in his lap.
"Thank you." Arthur smiled, almost laughing aloud at the memory of him & Beth going through his closet together for an hour. He was rather pleased that Alfred seemed to notice.
"Honestly I didn't know you had any non-punk clothes." Alfred laughed as Arthur wheeled them up to the outside ticket-booth courtyard.
"Nice." Arthur rolled his eyes. "Do you have the tickets on you or?"
"Here ya go." Alfred held them up for the Brit.
"Thank you." Arthur took them & got them through the ticket-takers. "So, what's with that stray strand of yours?"
"N-nothing, just leave it be, 'kay?" Alfred blushed.
"Uh, okay." Arthur said slowly.
"Hey, want some popcorn?" Alfred looked up, forgetting his blush.
"Yes, but I'll buy it. You want your own bag?" Arthur asked.
"Well, it'd be cheaper to get a large popcorn & share." Alfred replied.
"Alright, we can do that if you want."
"Well, its your money, so you can do what you want with it."
"We're going in a circle in this conversation. I'll get a large popcorn & two drinks." Arthur concluded, walking off. Alfred facepalmed, muttering at himself for the stupid, awkward convo.
"Toriiiiiiis! C'mon, let's like just get to like the movie!" Feliks whined, unintentionally calling Alfred's attention over.
"You just said you wanted some popcorn." Toris replied, fixing up a large bag with butter & salt.
"I know but like, we could totally like put butter & stuff on it like over there." Feliks sighed.
"Well, I already did, so chill, I'm coming." Toris rolled his eyes, walking over to the cross-dressed Polish teen. Feliks took a piece of popcorn from the bag & held it to Toris' lips. Toris laughed & open his mouth, recieving the popcorn. When he closed his lips, Toris got Feliks' upon his own.
"Can you hold the food & drinks, champ?" Arthur asked, recieving Alfred's attention.
"Yeah, no prob." Alfred took the snack & drinks.
"Oh, hey, it's like Al!" Feliks said, skipping over & dragging his boyfriend with him.
"Hey." Alfred waved slightly, an awkward feeling filling him.
"Hi." Toris smiled bashfully.
"Hello." Arthur greeted.
"So, like, are you guys totally on like a date too?" Feliks asked, tilting his head like a pup.
"No." Again, the reply Alfred gave was a knee-jerk reaction, quick & loud. Toris & Arthur raised a brow each.
"Like a simple, like calm no would have like totally sufficed, G-d Al." Feliks rolled his eyes, hands on his hips.
"Right, sorry." Alfred muttered, blushing. He cleared his throat. "So what movie are you guys going to see?"
"The new Johnny Depp movie." Feliks smiled.
"I think vamps are kinda lame, actually. Van Helsing is much cooler." Alfred commented.
"That's cuz you're a hero buff, Al." Feliks laughed & looked at Arthur. "Which would you say is better? Vamps or weres?"
"Depends on the story or movie. Van Helsing's vampires were melodramatic & the werewolves were sickening to watch. The original Dracula novel was amazing. Twilight was simply death to all the love I have for werewolves & vampires. Vampires burn or weaken in the sun, they do not sparkle like they ingested Tinkerbell." Arthur stated.
"Hey, Twilight was totally awesome!" Feliks declared.
"In its horribleness, yes it was." Arthur countered. Feliks glared, Arthur smiled.
"I have to agree with Artie." Alfred said. "Twilight was death to all vampire & werewolf myths."
"Hmph. But I like totally have Toris on my like side, right?" Feliks looked at his boyfriend. Toris smiled nervously. "Well?"
"Actually, I agree with them." Toris replied. Feliks pouted at Toris, who just shook his head. "Sorry, I was a Twilight fan for about 6 months before I saw the first movie & the movie completely turned me away from the series."
"Like fine." Feliks sighed & looked at his watch. "Shit! Our like movie is totally about to start! See you!"
The Polish crossdresser took his boyfriend's hand & raced off in the direction of their theater. Toris waved at Alfred & Arthur before turning around & keeping pace with Feliks.
"I hope they invite us to their wedding." Alfred said suddenly, grinning knowingly.
"What?" Arthur blinked. "Where did that come from?"
"You can't tell me you didn't see their grins, they were impossible to miss." Alfred replied.
"So what?" Arthur shrugged.
"They say a picture's worth a thousand words. Smiles tell a story all on their own." Alfred stated.
"Okay?" Arthur said, glancing at his watch. "We have to get to our movie, champ."
"Okay." Alfred said, making sure he had the snacks. They got to the theater & found a place for Arthur to sit, Alfred putting on his brakes.
Matthew took a deep breathe before shutting off the car & stepping out. He climbed the walk & knocked. After a few moments, Gilbert opened the door.
"Ja?" Then the Prussian realized whom was at his door. "M-matt!?"
"H-hey." Matthew smiled hesitantly. They stared silently at one another for a few seconds. Finally, Matthew spoke, "I'm sorry."
"Nein, nein, don't be, I crossed a line & I shouldn't have. I'm sorry." Gilbert replied.
"And I was a bitch about it." Matthew shook his head.
"You could never be a bitch, Vögelchen." Gilbert laughed, getting a blush from the Canadian. Another moment of silence before Gilbert found himself being hugged tightly. The albino kissed the top of Matthew's head & stroked his hair gently. "We'll figure something out, I swear."
"Dad! Can I talk to you?" Alfred asked, peeking into his father's office.

After all the New Year's celebrations calmed down it was back to work a few days later-Lucy being picked up by her parents the day before her first day back from her break. She heard less from Alfred because of his busy traveling schedule, but he tried to make it a point to at least call her once or twice a week.
"It's only been a week and you already look depressed."
She spun around in her chair and found Matthew smiling in the doorway of her office with a brown paper bag in hand.
"I do not look depressed," She protested. She sniffed the air as the aroma of food began to fill her office. "That smells good!"

The next few weeks were spent with Alfred. He got permission to work from her apartment and only took seminars that were near Chicago. [Name] would get off from work and meet up with him for dinner- or if he had a seminar she would preoccupy herself by going to Matthew’s house until he got back. She felt like she was neglecting her friends- especially Matthew- but they all insisted that she spend as much time was Alfred as she could. Before she knew it the end of February arrived. They stood facing each other- him in his military uniform and her in casual wear. His siblings watched sadly from the side.

He turned to you and said, "_______! There's still a way you can be saved! The ledge... you can heal yourself on that ledge!"
You nodded and said, "Right. Copy that. Thanks, Alfred, for being a great hero." You started to sprint to the ledge. Ther
